once again: back to school

Hej,

Hvordan går det? Jeg er godt :)

This is one of the few sentences I have learned so far in the Sprogskole. YES, we have finally started our courses!!! I’m taking part in the evening classes and it's always a calm and productive atmosphere, which I really enjoy, especially after a long day of work. I didn’t expect it to be that way, cause when I hear the word “school” I think about a more hectic atmosphere. So far I’m able to be part of a conversation about age, origin, living location, relationship status and simple sentences for everyday use, such as:

Tak for i dag.

Det er okay.

Ja, selvfølgelig.

Vi ses i morgen

and a few more ^^

As far as grammar and understanding goes, I am really lucky, that I can speak German, because sometimes it's quite similar.

Apart from the language school I also got the chance to be Leyla's passenger. One morning, when the weather was just perfect, we decided to do something outside of Nykøbing and so we took the car and drove, with good music and snacks. Although the wind almost blew us away and our hands almost froze, it was a really nice activity, and I enjoyed the little walk, as well as the car drive past cows, goats and a rainbow. As we walked up to the stone figures, we did a little research about on the meaning of the artwork and found out that we were standing in the middle of Lolland's “alps”. I really liked the view of green small hills (definitely not alps in our eyes :D) and the small town by the sea.

A few days later I really got into the Christmas spirit. One big reason for that was the snow-covered town when I woke up and looked out of the window, another reason was Leyla, who started playing Christmas music while we were cooking and how could you not fall into christmas mood with the big tree at the city square and all the decoration directly infront of your window? The whole christmas and hygge atmosphere also arrived in Kulturfabrikken. The cafe area, as well as the concerthall and the artroom are now decorated with lights, which we put up together with Ronni. And another exciting thing was of course:

THE FIRST SNOW :D waking up to a powdery white city just sets you in a happy Christmas mood, at least that’s what it does to me.

For some reason, I can’t explain, Leyla and me had the weirdest obsession this month, starting with food. We ate so much Pizza this month, if selfmade at Kulturfabrikken during the Hyggebar (which was by the way very very hygglig), or orderd from a restaurant, or at home. A dish that we also baked a couple of times this month is Apple Crumble. It’s so simple but so good and definitly a food, that feels like a good hug ^^

Here the simple recepie that I used:

4 Apples (cut in chunks)

2 Tbsp corn starch

2 Tbsp sugar

cinnamon

Toss in a baking dish and mix

225g flour/ oats (mix half/ half)

175g sugar

175g butter

Knead until it's a crumbly dough and crumbe over the apples.

Bake at 180C for 30-35 miuntes and serve with still warm and with ice cream.

(for special version: add frozen berries and serve with salted caramel ice cream :))

Other than food, Leyla kinda draged (litterally) me into her obsession with Ruepaul’s Dragrace and guys I am on it. We watched a few episoeds so far and a Dragqueen that really got into my heart is Bianca del Rio. I can really recommend the show to you and it’s even better when you have a watchbuddy (like Leyla) on your side :)

Talking about Christmas again, I have to say that I almost can’t wait to go back home to see all my friends and family again. Christmas is for me a holiday were it is just hyggligt and everyone comes together to eat good food. I am so excided to see my loved ones again and also go to my favourite spots in my hometown.

On the 14.12 we also were part of Jul på Fabrikken and cooked typical dishes from our home countries. If you're interested in the recipes just go to kulturfabrikken_guldborgsund on Instagram, where you can find them :P

It was a really nice and cozy event and I got to spent the whole day outside with Susanne. It was really great to see all the people and the athomoshere was amazing :)) And maybe you noticed the nice backround at the photoworkshop ;) (made by Elisabeth, Guna, Leyla and me ^^)

Before going home, I’m actually stopping in Vienna to go to a concert with my older brother, which I’m really excided about. The Band is call “Die fantastischen Vier” and they make old german hip hop music. It’s a band that we used to listen to with our dad and that has been following us around since our childhood and I have actually never seen them live, so it’s about time :D

So, if you’re searching for new songs here are some of my current favourites:

Heute – Die fantasitischen Vier

Die Lösung - Die fantastischen Vier

Und los – Die fantastischen Vier

OMG! - Materia

Babydoll – Dominic Fike

Selber machen lassen – Deichkind

(sorry, most of them are german :))

Ohh and also Guna passed her final exam in language school, so again CONGRATS to GUNA GIRL <3

To all you guys already merry Christmas and a happy new year, since this is my last blog in 2024 :)

Take care and vi ses
