Back in Party City!

Hi Everyone!!

And happy new year! I don’t know why but somehow 2025 feels really good to say and be in! Yay! I’m freshly back from a long Christmas vacay in Lithuania where I spent wonderful and peaceful days together with my family and my grandparents.

Right after I arrived back in Nykøbing on January 2nd, I left again to meet my dear friend Alara in Copenhagen! It was so, so, so nice to see her again and reconnect after many months of not seeing each other.

On the way home I had a new thing to look forward to: Tabea and her friend Janosch arrived together from Austria and Janosch was planning to stay a few days with us! We had a blast together and Janosh even gave us a hand at work!

After our visitor left and shortly before Tabea’s birthday, we took a trip to Marielyst. I can’t even begin to describe how stunning the view was that awaited us. It was very nice to take that trip. It gave me and Tabea some time to reconnect after being separated a while and get back into the roommate groove. And at the same time, it was also good to get some sun and fresh air into our system after weeks of winter weather.

In my head I just keep calling it “Schmuddelwetter”, which basically translates to grubby, muddy or gloomy weather. And to all the Danes reading this: Yes, you have to pronounce the Ds!! :p

Nd then the next day, on Monday, it was Tabea’s 20th birthday! We spent Monday and Tuesday celebrating Tabby’s big day with nice presents and æbleskiver. It was nice to feel the festive atmosphere!

5 days later we helped out at a really nice Children’s concert and after that it was already time to pack for our Midterm training in Copenhagen! It’s so crazy to think about the fact that we’ve almost reached halftime of our stay here in Denmark! Waaaaah! Impressive and very sad at the same time! Where will life carry us after??

Anyways, we spent a really stormy midterm-week in Copenhagen filled with many reconnections, anecdotes, activities and learnings! How nice to see everyone again!

After that we got to enjoy more and more sunny days that decided to show up from time to time! It made me really happy and I cannot wait for spring and summer to slowly arrive in Nykøbing!

Around the same time Tabea and I started helping out Katrine with the Confirmation art project for all the youngsters that are going to be confirmated soon. It’s a nice project and I’m very excited to see the end result in March!!

Last Friday we had the metal concert that I have very much been lookibg forward to! And it didn't dissapoint! Everyone had a blast and I was very happy working behind the bar and talking to all kinds of people… or rather screaming since it was really loud, haha J

This weekend we had another nice thing happening! Our Italian volunteer friend Andea came to visit us for a few days before his trip to Iceland (VERY exciting)! We got to show him around Nykøbing and Kulturfabrikken on a very beautiful and sunny winter day!

So all in all with all the things happening January felt Really long and really full of experiences and activities!

As far as my Danish skills go: I’m starting to get into the more complicated stuff like the past tense and personal pronouns (my ENEMY)!

That was my quick update!

Stay healthy, everyone :-)
