Blog #7 A lot going on!

Hej guys,

While winter felt kind of slow it now feels like time is going by so quickly since there has been a lot happening these past weeks. We are getting more and more days where the sun is coming out and it really feels like spring has started.

Emil was still visiting when I posted my last blog and we spent some nice last days together. On the last evening he was here we decided to have dinner by the water so we took a stack of bread slices with cheese and some red wine and went down to the harbour. It was so nice because we got to see a beautiful sunset over the sea. Afterwards we went to the cinema, which to my shock is sooo expensive here, and saw the new movie “Project Hail Mary”. It was great!

The next day he had to travel home again but there was no time for boredom since it was Gunas birthday. Of course we had to celebrate her and to make it even more exciting her twin sister was visiting for a few days. I was very happy to meet her. They came by the Open workshop on Monday, which was super cozy. After work we went to Gunas place to celebrate a bit more. Finally seeing the long distance sisters together was actually so sweet. The next day they also came to the team meeting so all the colleagues could meet Gunas sister and wish a happy birthday to them. The rest of the week I was just working normally and I used the weekend to relax and prepare for the upcoming easter holiday week. Hanna and I were working the three days leading up to easter but almost everyone else was on holiday, which was actually quite nice. We had the whole office to ourselves and some workshops with only very few people so it was really chill.

On the Tuesday evening my mom as well as my aunt and little cousin arrived. I was incredibly happy to see them and to spent my easter holidays with them. They got to see my workplace and even participate in the Designstuen on Wednesday. We stayed in Kobenhavn over Thursday and Friday since those were easter holidays and I didn’t have to work. My family had booked a hostel there for the night so we could really make the most of our time in the city. Since I have been there many times now I could show them all the beautiful places, but there are still so many things in København that I haven’t seen. For example the Designmuseum we visited on Thursday. I hadn’t been there before and it was really interesting. Of course we also had to eat a lot of delicious food! We found sweet cafes and went to Broens Street Food market. When we got home with the train on Friday we also had a reservation at Dhaba for some great Indian food. I was very happy about that girls trip with may family and had so much fun with them! My aunt and cousin had to leave on Saturday but my mom stayed longer, which meant she could also meet Hannas parents that came to visit over the next days. On Monday my mom and I decided to bike to Marielyst again. Unfortunately it was a lot more windy then when I went with Emil. The way to Marielyst was quick and easy but on the way back the headwind was so strong it took us double the time and we even had to walk some parts of the way. We enjoyed the beach there anyways and I got my first ice cream of the year, chocolate of course. My mom also requested to bake cinnamon rolls together because I had always just send her pictures of the ones I made. So of course she got to try them herself. They were lovely as always!

On Tuesday Hannas parents and my mom came to Kulturfabrikken after our team meeting to say hello to everyone. It was nice that they could all meet each other and we talked a lot. Nanna was not working that day so we decided to go out for dinner with her, her husband and August. We went to the Italian restaurant a the harbour in the evening and had a cozy time all together. I was really happy to see my mom getting a long so well with the people I’ve got to meet here in Denmark. Even though saying good bye to her the next morning was a bit hard I am so thankful for the nice days we could spent together.

After that I was back to working as usual but I spent a lot of time sewing in the weekend. Hanna was in København with her parents so I had a lot of relaxing time for myself. I really appreciated that because now there is a lot going on with different cool events at work and in my free time. We have the first Billedskole Vernissage this week, a concert coming up on Friday, a volunteer friend visiting over the weekend and a big Democracy Festival next week. So there is a lot to do and no time to waste!

I’ll tell you how it goes in my next blog.

Vi ses!
