About high heights and deep dales

Hej everyone,

Since the last blog a lot of things have happened, some very fun and others very sad… That´s how life goes I suppose, everything is happening all at once. The joy, the sorrow, they all have their places and that is good I suppose❤️‍🩹 Hopefully you guys are doing good and surviving the cold winter temperatures🥶

Let´s start with a highlight that really lighted up my whole January: on Friday the 23. I had my 19th birthday and it was such a nice day, better than I ever could've imagined🥹 In the early morning my parents called me, because I had to go to language school that day. It was very nice to see them, and of course also strange at the same time, because it actually was my first birthday where I wasn't with them. But luckily there were a lot of nice things waiting for me, so I didn’t have the time to be sad☺️ As it was a Friday, Lily and I had invited some friends over from climbing, work, skating and elsewhere for a little party in the evening. So in the afternoon I spent the whole time grocery shopping, dressing up and preparing everything for the evening and Lily made some delicious brownies (thank you, you’re the best😚😚!!). For dinner Lily and I went to the Indian restaurant Dhaba on the city square (it was SO delicious) and then the party could begin💃! I just want to say that thanks to all those wonderful people I had the best night and I couldn’t wish for any better🥳🥰❤️!

Besides that, work continued normally, with cozy backing with Nanna in the cafe, nice workshops and language school. Lily and I are each now making reels for designstuen which is very fun and since the middle of January I am helping Annette with the Wednesday classes in the picture factory. It is very cute to see the children making their things and great to get to learn different things from Annette. Lily and I also continued bouldering as usual with our friends <3!

The next thing I really looked forward to was that on Sunday the first of February three of my friends from Belgium (Giuli, Dune and Miguel) were coming to visit me here😊 When they arrived it was like a piece of home was suddenly here in Denmark, it felt so good to have them here and we had a lot of fun catching up :)) Unfortunately, my parents called me that evening and told me that my grandma was doing very bad (she already had cancer for a few months). So we decided that I should go to Germany so that I get a chance to see her. Thankfully it was no problem at work and my friends also really supported me, so I took the train on Tuesday. My friends stayed as planned in Denmark and luckily enjoyed their vacation. I just want to say that I am very grateful that I could be with my grandma and my family that week.

Back in Denmark means: Vidunderlig Vinterferie! First I was not sure if I would be in the mood for it, but it turned out that that week was great to get back to work and it felt good to have that distraction. The house was buzzing, the workshops were busy and the atmosphere was just meget hyggeligt❄️! To see kids creating things they were proud of in the end was just wonderful, and even though I was exhausted after that week, it was really heartwarming and fulfilling💝 The Fredagshyggebar was the perfect cherry on top with the rest of the æbleskiver from Jul på Fabrikken, board games and nice people. And that wasn’t even the end of the evening, because after we went to Marielyst to go bowling with some friends that also came to the Fredagshyggebar. It was an amazing night and we had a lot of fun🌟!

After a chill weekend, I got very sad news last Monday morning: my grandma passed away at 3 in the morning. This is now four days ago and all I can say is that it is very hard and I am going through a lot of emotions. We had a very close bond and she is the strongest person I know. I am very thankful for all the caring and warm people here who support me so dearly.

See you guys in March when hopefully spring has already said hello!

Vi ses,

Hanna
